Shortwood Barn is a modern, open plan home, finished to a high specification. The design and build quality has been nominated for an award by Bath Council. You are in the heart of the Chew Valley coutryside, with great local pubs and walks, and easy access to the 3 local cities. It's as quiet or lively as you would like it to be.
The barn has also featured in Buildit Magazine as a house with the 'wow factor'. It was selected by the Plum guide as an exceptional Airbnb property, though we chose not to pursue that avenue. Our reviews in both Airbnb and Tripadvisor have been exceptional from the earliest guests in 2017 to our most recent;

The house itself is very comfortable and has a superb finish - and as a very recent conversion it also benefits from the best of environmentally friendly features. Our purpose is to provide high quality accommodation in a private space at an exceptional price. We have kept our prices at the same level now since 2020 even though demand to stay is high - we personally don't like feeling ripped off and we would like our guests to feel valued, particularly as the last few years have been very 'trying' for all of us in the UK.
It is within easy reach of Wells and Glastonbury; with Bath and Bristol a short car ride away.
We would love to welcome as many guests as possible, however, due to insurance restrictions the barn is limited to 8 guests only. This includes children and any visitors. We are unable to provide facilities for pets and infants and unfortunately cannot accommodate pushchairs or travel cots.
We created this website as an opportunity for guests to avoid the add-on charges that hosting platforms charge, though we can only process bank transfers at the moment. If you wish to pay by credit card, then we would recommend that you use Airbnb to book us. The terms and conditions are the same on this site as Airbnb
The ground floor is open plan and is therefore spacious and airy. The kitchen and separate utility have all the necessary equipment to make your stay an easy one. There are multiple large glazed doors which offer easy access to both terrace and garden, as well as the fields beyond.
The upstairs accommodation is relaxing, quiet, and comfortable. It comprises 2 double bedrooms, both with en-suite, and 2 twin bedrooms with a large family bathroom.
The master bedroom has a glazed balcony with relaxing views over fields - a great place for an early evening glass of whatever you fancy. Drink in the views at the same time.
