Shortwood Barn is a standalone building with it's own garden and private path onto fields from which guests can roam freely. There is a huge sweeping hillside behind the property and from that connections to a number of footpaths. We provide walking routes on this site from straight out of the door. This is a beautiful area to wander about in with great views and pubs.
Additionally, the wifi here is excellent with a 100Mb connection....so you can be as away or as connected as you like.
The barn is designed as a large convivial open place space, ideal for conversing, cooking, celebrating. The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious.
The configuration of the bedrooms is; 2 are doubles with ensuite bathrooms; 2 are twins with 2 single beds per room and share a seperate bathroom. Every bedroom is light, bright and airy, and the master is something very special.
There is a downstairs toilet and seperate utility with washing machine and tumble dryer.
We provide towels, handsoap, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, cleaning utensils, most things you need to hand. We do ask guests bring their own bathing and beauty products please.
All our laundry is professionally cleaned and maintained.
The kitchen has integrated oven, hob and microwave, together with a full height fridge free and dishwasher. Kettles, pots, pans, coffee maker, tinfoil, corkscrew, and so on. Here's what guests say;

The barn is a very modern conversion; it runs on a constant temperature all year round 24/7 thanks to a ground source heat pump. It also has the capacity to recycle air (either warm or cold) and has underfloor heating downstairs and indivudual radiators.
In the summer we keep a small vegetable garden for the benefit of guests who want a 'soil to pan' experience.
